ADAM FREELAND Label boss and head honcho himself, Adam Freeland leads the Marine Parade with the label's newest signing, 26 year old breakbeat wunderkind Alex Metric and blogger's favorite Sta. Along with special guest Z-Trip, the founding father of the mash-up movement. Adam recently released his astounding new E.P "Hate", of all original material and is slated to release his sophomore artist album entitled "How To Fake Your Own Life", due out in June.
2008 looks to be the label's strongest year yet: with greatly-anticipated full-lengths expected from Adam Freeland and Evil Nine and the storming debut album from Alex Metric, Marine Parade enters its second decade right where it began: on the forward edge of the most groundbreaking music, circa now. 10pm – 5am Friday, March 28th, 2008 ADAM BEYER Since the mid-90s, Swedish techno pioneer Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label has become synonymous with the techno sound of Sweden, with Beyer and Joel Mull forming the nexus of the Swedish Techno mafia. Joined by Pär Grindvik, newly anointed ‘Producer of 2007’ by Beyer, his live sets are inspired by memories and music from the past, combined with the future of techno. Another techno upstart is Indiana-based producer Kyle Geiger, the first American to release on Drumcode and named Beyer’s "Breakthrough DJ of 2008." Rounding out the techno testosterone is the eclectic Ida Engberg. Together these artists have evolved from the harder, percussive stylings of the late 90's Swedish Techno sound and continue to bridge the gap into the future of the modern Techno sound.</p>
In 2008, Beyer is planning to take Drumcode to the next level with more shows and promotion with a string of releases and remixes on Drumcode and sub-label Truesoul from the likes of Perc, Joey Beltram, Len Faki, 2000 and One, Paco Osuna, Kyle Geiger, Hardcell, Pär Grindvik, Ortin Cam, Smith & Selway, Raudive, Patrik Skoog, Museum, Nihad Tule, JPLS, Martinez and Cirez D.</em></span> 10pm – 5am Saturday, March 29th, 2008 STANTON WARRIORS Renowned UK breakbeat act Stanton Warriors bring together the UK heavyweights for an intimate Saturday night session. Their latest release “The Remixes” features a collection of their remixes of artists who were important to the UK Garage and Electronic scenes, including cuts from Alter Ego, Apollo 440, Gorillaz, Fatboy Slim, Layo & Bushwacka, Basement Jaxx and many others. The Freestylers are exactly as their name suggests, a heady blend of brash, hip-hop-inspired grooves resulting in a hypersonic amalgamation that knows no barriers. They have been storming with their new mash-up “Push Up Word Up” out on Ministry of Sound this year. The dancefloor-destroying duo Deekline & Wizard blend together live scratching with a hip hop approach to mixing for a truly one-of-a-kind performance. 10pm – 5am Made Event at WMC 2008 March 25 Wave Music Party: François K , Radio Slave + Special Guests @ The Pawn Shop About Made Event |
