House of Yes, known as Brooklyn’s most outrageous performance and event space that is described by USA Today as, “New York’s coolest new nightclub”, welcomes a duo of stellar events in early October that highlight the most creative, influential, and cherished cultures of yesterday and today. Paying homage to the great legends of old school hip hop and the ‘Golden Era’ days of Studio 54, House of Yes presents two not-to-be missed themed dance parties.

On Thursday, October 6, House of Yes hosts a very special edition of Throwback Thursday with hip hop legend GRANDMASTER FLASH, stepping back to the days of when hip hop first started in community centers and parks across the Bronx. Going even further back in time, on Friday, October 7,  House of Yes revives 1970’s discomania with Discotechnique to celebrate the club’s co-founder Kae Burke’s 30th birthday with glistening themes and activities with help from the one who was there at the very beginning, Studio 54 disco maestro NICKY SIANO.

Thursday, October 6 - Throwback Thursday: Grandmaster Flash
Doors 10pm - Advance tickets available on Eventbrite

Welcoming a pioneering figure that helped spawn the birth of hip hop culture, House of Yes invites guests to a very special edition of Throwback Thursday to witness the innovator of the turntable, the man who turned it into an instrument itself, Grandmaster Flash. The night celebrates all that is hip hop culture from back in its original days; double dutching, street moves, and more. The master of hip hop is also a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and an associate producer for the 2016 Netflix original series ‘The Get Down,’ co-created by Baz Luhrmann. Hold tight because it’s going to be a legendary night at House of Yes with a real life legend.

Disco never left and it never will. The crew will be celebrating House of Yes co-founder Kae Burke’s 30th birthday with glittering 1970’s disco outfits that pay homage to the days in which four to the floor ruled the dance floor and disco kings and queens reigned every nightclub. Hustle to disco of every style spun by the original Studio 54 resident DJ Nicky Siano (playing a 5 hour set), and support from Bridget Marie, and The Real Cristiano? all night long. With sparkle and glamour overload, a rooftop hot tub, birthday cake and balloons, it is a night guaranteed to go down in the nightclub history books.

Previous Discotechnique DJ Cosmo Baker says, "this is such a fun club and what you guys have here is VERY special… The vibe specifically for Discotechnique is amazing! It’s absolutely unique to be able to do what exactly is done in a club of that size in 2016, and Discotechnique is indicative of what you’ve done over all. Honestly you guys are New York’s only saving grace right now!"

About House of Yes:
House of Yes opened its third iteration in Bushwick at the beginning of 2016 to become a beacon of NYC nightlife after shuttering its doors too soon in East Williamsburg three years ago. Original partners Anya Sapozhnikova and Kae Burke, teamed up with Ilan Telmont and Justin Ahiyon to build out the best venue ever with a little help from their friends, seeding a Kickstarter campaign for $92,340 (original goal: $60,000). The space includes an art-deco restaurant parlor, a spectacularly decorated warehouse-sized performance space, a courtyard with kitschy repurposed decor, and a clandestine mini-club. House of Yes is now the home of circus spectacles, immersive cinema, burlesque and cabaret shows, aerial extravaganzas, nightlife parties, morning raves, brunch, BBQs, and bubble baths, all with superior sound and exemplary service. Each night is specially curated to create an immersive experience with music, theatrics, and performances to titillate the senses and expand your mind, unlike any other venue in Brooklyn right now.
