Porterhouse returns to Miami during Winter Music Conference week for its 6th straight year on Saturday, March 27th at intimate clubbing boîte B.E.D. DJ/producer Steve Porter first launched his inaugural assault on club denizens with his Porterhouse party at State nightclub back in 2005 – with an eclectic set made up of a combination of Big Room Electro, Techno and Progressive House with Break Beats for build-up that was so electrifying, he left the crowd clamoring for more of his infectious, signature style. Over the years, the Porterhouse parties were so successful that the critically acclaimed compilations ‘Porterhouse Volumes I and II’ were spawned and his distinct ‘Porterhouse Style’ was unleashed to the world. Though he has had immense underground notoriety since then, 2009 was undoubtedly a defining year for Steve Porter as he made his mark on the mainstream front as a powerful music and Youtube video producer.

Porter has never been afraid to take his music one-step further in the name of keeping things intriguing. As he once fervidly said, “I don’t make music for anybody, I make it for myself.” It’s no surprise that he would use his creative foresight to experiment with the emerging ‘mash-up’ trend by creating the first ever video remix using the original Slap Chop infomercial to create a remix entitled “Rap Chop”. At almost 9 million Youtube views since its inception, the impressive viral Internet meme has propelled him into the spotlight. Popular is an understatement. Now at the pinnacle of his career, Steve Porter has composed so many video remixes that he not only has his own channel on Youtube now with over 16 million views but, he launched his own company Porterhouse Media to facilitate his new video remix projects which have garnered worldwide attention on press outlets such as TMZ, Fox News and ESPN. To date, his videos have been commissioned for FedEx, IBM’s Lotus Notes, and most recently, he is handling projects for ABC and he is set to produce the entire NBA “Where Amazing Happens” ad campaign with his video remixes for the 2010 playoffs.

2010 will be the year of Porterhouse Media with heaps of exciting new video remixes in the works including: “Life Alert Remix” featuring Wilford Brimley, “Doc Bottoms Aspray Remix”, and two remixes for the hit TV shows “Scrubs” and “Entourage” where Porter will be remixing the opening track “Superhero” by Jane’s Addiction.

On the touring front, Porter will be performing at upcoming massive events including NBA, Ultra Music Festival (March 26), WMC, and Coachella. For Ultra Music Festival, Porter created a special Ultra remix video starring many  of your favorite Ultra artists. At Coachella, Porter will debut a unique audio/visual live set full of original remixes as well as debut his “Superhero” remix collaboration with Jane’s Addition’s frontman Perry Farrell with an exclusive Perry Farrell vs. Steve Porter performance in the dance tent on Friday, April 16th.

With Porter’s prolific output and keen pulse on the cultural pulse of new media, he is one of the few artists on the cutting edge of this brave, new world. Find out what’s everybody’s talking about on youtube and don’t miss the chance to catch the always exciting DJ stylings of Steve Porter at one of his upcoming shows.

Pacha NYC presents the New York stop of the renowned label’s Desolat Bus Tour featuring label heads Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich along with Romanian representatives Livio & Roby on Saturday, March 20th, 2010.

Every so often a DJ or producer comes along who inspires the collective imagination of the clubbing world. Loco Dice is someone who can piece together these intangible moods with a uniquely direct approach. Whether it is his DJ sets or productions on labels like M_nus, Cadenza, Ovum, Cocoon or his own Desolat, he manages to merge perspectives in a delicate sense of sound and atmosphere, underpinned with a solid, physical groove. His DJ sets are known to be spontaneous orchestrations fueled by the nuances of a crowd, location, or venue.  It is this innate understanding of people: what they sense, what they feel, what they want to imagine that distinguishes him from other DJs.

Martin Buttrich has been involved with such a large number of productions since his start, it would give even the most eager clubber a difficult time finding them all. Since the beginning, Buttrich has kept his head down and worked as a studio producer for over a decade, producing records with the likes of Timo Maas and Loco Dice.  His work with Loco Dice has appeared on labels like Ovum, M_nus and Cocoon.  His dark, twisted sound produces a fiercely isolated groove and has come to embody the dominant sound of dance floors which has made Martin Buttrich and Loco Dice productions the in demand sound across the world.  It is with this success that Desolat Music was born.  Buttrich has still found time to produce work under his own name, releasing records on Planet E, and Four:Twenty.  Buttrich is not only a studio wizard though. He can be seen playing his live set at all premier clubs around the world.

Livio & Roby are two of Romania’s most elite producers and DJs.  With a great understanding of dance music and exceptional production skills the duo have produced and remixed tracks appearing on labels like Cecille, Fumakilla, Junior Boy´s Own and Viva.  Their distinct sound ranges from the realms of deep house to classic techno. Holding residencies at several premier clubs in their homeland including Studio Martin and Kristal, as well as being major players at venues throughout the continent, Livio & Roby are poised to become the next great stars of dance music.  This was greatly influenced by Loco Dice when the famed DJ asked the duo to join the Desolat family in 2008, thus giving them a highly visible platform to grow and develop their sound for audiences around the globe.

Paxahau has teamed up this year with Ford Motor Company to present the Movement Electronic Music Festival Powered by Ford Fiesta Saturday, May 29 through Monday May 31.

We are pleased to be partnering with Ford Motor Company for the 10th anniversary of the festival,” said Jason Huvaere, Executive Director of Movement Electronic Music Festival Powered by Ford Fiesta. “It is important to our team to find brands to support the festival that really understand and respect the audience that attends Movement; and we think Ford is that type of sponsor.

Ford Motor Company is very familiar with the terrain of the annual music festival that for the last decade has drawn tens-of-thousands of Techno and electronic dance music fans to downtown Detroit each year from across the globe every Memorial Day Weekend.

The Ford Fiesta and the electronic music festival go together hand-in-hand,” said Jeff Eggen, Ford car experiential marketing manager. “We felt like the vibrant nature of Fiesta would come to life in a setting like this, and the attendees will truly appreciate what Fiesta is all about.

Going on sale this summer, the all-new Ford Fiesta features an expressive, vibrant design, sharp reflexes, and a global track record that will redefine U.S. small car customers’ expectations. With 15 class-exclusive technologies and a projected best-in-class highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, Fiesta brings efficiency and convenience together in one package.

Fiesta is designed to be versatile, personal and adaptable. In fact, Fiesta is expected to deliver best-in-class convenience and connectivity with Ford’s segment-exclusive SYNC® voice-activated communications system, as well as an expressive color palette and available graphics.

DJ Hell

Made Event presents
DJ HELL
& ABE DUQUE
with WILLIE GRAFF
@ Cielo

Made Event presents German techno icon and head honcho of the International Deejay Gigolos empire DJ Hell, along with Abe Duque and Playtime resident Willie Graff at Cielo on Saturday, March 20, 2010.

Helmut Geier, aka DJ Hell, is one of the most intriguing and respected artists in dance music.  Throughout his illustrious career DJ Hell has establishing himself in the upper echelons of the worlds dance music titans. With a bold musical reputation as a creative rebel and suave fashion trendsetter, there’s no question he is a modern day cultural icon. When not busy spreading a blend of dark new wave techno to worldwide audiences, designing for his fashion lines, or manning his powerhouse label Deejay Gigolos, you can find DJ Hell in the studio doing what he does best – concocting cutting-edge new music for the masses.

Following his intoxicating masterpiece Teufelswerk, he is riding high with the smash single “U Can Dance” featuring vocals from glam rock darling, Bryan Ferry.  The anthemic single features a slew of cutting edge remixes from the likes of Carl Craig, Tim Goldsworthy, and electro superstars Simian Mobile Disco.  It has charted high around the world including a spot on the Time Out New York’s Top 10 Club Music of 2009 charts, 5 stars from DJ Mag, landing at #1 for 2 consecutive weeks on DMC BUZZ Chart, as well as being  nominated for the respected 2010 Echo Awards.

New York dance music veteran Abe Duque is the self described “oldest new guy on the scene”.  His 20 + year career has spanned the spectrum of what a DJ and producer can achieve, while maintaining the underground image that so many wish to keep.  From Limelight to Tresor, the dark acid basslines, Latin percussion, deep-house grooves, ethereal electronica and piano instrumentals that make up Duque’s sound have been showcased around the world.  His latest album Don’t Be So Mean combines dance floor friendly tunes with Abe’s meditative side to produce an eclectic full length album.  Pacha Ibiza and Cielo resident Willie Graff has the sounds of electronic music pumping through his veins.  Being born on the white isle, the Playtime resident brings his trademark brand of deep, moody house music to his Mediterranean home during the summer and the booth of his adopted hometown of New York throughout the year.

Perfecto presents Special Guest, Hernan Cattaneo, Mark Knight, Nervo + Kenneth Thomas @ Buddha Gardens, Karu & Y

Monday, March 8th, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Saturday, March 27th, 2010
Perfecto presents
“SPECIAL GUEST”
with
HERNAN CATTANEO
MARK KNIGHT
NERVO
KENNETH THOMAS
@ Buddha Gardens at Karu & Y

Paul Oakenfold’s legendary Perfecto name has been synonymous with all things quality since its inception nearly two decades ago.  From top-notch productions by the world’s most elite artists to the finest events in the business, Perfecto has now transcended from record label to iconic dance music brand.  Following a string of highly successful conference events, Perfecto returns to Miami in the Buddha Gardens at Karu & Y with a slew of its best representatives. Hernan Cattaneo, Mark Knight, NERVO and Kenneth Thomas will be joined by a very Special Guest to bring the Perfecto sounds back to Miami on Saturday, March 27th, 2010.

The Special Guest, so exclusive “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,” has been integral to Perfecto since its inception and is highly regarded as one of the first superstar DJs of the era, landing in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most popular DJ. His impact on the world of dance music is undisputed and has been fiercely debated by purists but he is hugely credited with popularizing dance music in America with sweeping major-chord melodics, orchestral synthesizers, and big, dramatic crescendos for the masses.

Argentine hero Hernan Cattaneo is an electronic music renaissance man. From his touring, production work to his masterful mix CDs and radio shows, music isn’t just an occupation for Hernan – it’s an existence. Blessed with a warm and honest passion, Hernan’s journey has been rooted with a definitive musical understanding ever since he heard his first 12”s coming out of Detroit, Chicago, and Europe. Both a true DJ’s DJ and a peoples’ favorite, Hernan’s career has been filled with accomplishments rivaled by very few. A seminal Renaissance and Perfecto favorite, Hernan’s impressive compilation work can only be overshadowed by his extensive tour schedule; bringing him to the finest clubs and festivals throughout the world.

UK DJ/producer and Toolroom Knights head honcho Mark Knight’s high octane sets across the dance music spectrum have devastated dance floors throughout the world, while his original studio work and remixes have made him the most in-demand and sought after producer in the business.  With 2 IDMA nominations for ‘Best Global Label’ and ‘Best Global Radio Show’ for the Toolroom Knights radio show, a recent Grammy nomination for the Black Eyed Peas’ multi-platinum album ‘The E.N.D’, he also stormed Beatport’s 2009 best seller list with 3 of the year’s most popular tracks; “Good Times”, “Music Matters”, and “Flauta Magica.” Mark Knight continues to champion a sound and attitude that’s gained respect from fans and industry people alike, hungry for the integrity of the label’s production skills and the quality of their parties with residencies at Ministry of Sound London, Avalon Hollywood and Pacha NYC.

Transatlantic lady duo NERVO have been making quite a splash in the world of dance music recently.  With their hands dipped in all aspect of the scene there seems to be no stone left unturned when these two get down to business.  Hot of the heels of their writing work on David Guetta’s Grammy winning “When Love Takes Over”, they are now set to release multiple collaborations with platinum artists K$sha on her debut album.  However, their top-notch collaborations do not stop there.  As either writers or producers, NERVO are currently working with the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Roger Sanchez, Laidback Luke, Kylie Minogue and The Pussycat Dolls.

Paul Oakenfold knows how to spot talent and to him, “Kenneth Thomas is without doubt one of the most promising young DJs in the electronic scene right now. There is an intelligence and a well defined style to his sets. He’s quickly emerging as one to watch in the next generation of superstar DJs.” Following in the footsteps of prior Oakenfold protégé’s Dave Ralph, D:Fuse, and Hernan Cattaneo, the Detroit native and Pefecto A&R guy is now at the forefront of the modern era of progressive dance music.  With global DJ sets, studio work on the likes of Hope, Coldharbour and Perfecto, and the support of one of the greatest figures that dance music has ever seen, Kenneth Thomas is poised to break through in a big way.
