Sunday School For Degenerates will once again descend upon Miami to mark the end of conference week in grand fashion.  Now in its fifth installment, the 24 hour party extravaganza has become a virtual who’s who of industry figures, the world’s most elite underground techno artists, and slews of ‘in the know’ clubbers.  This year, Made Event will be bringing the 24 hour lesson in afterhours debauchery back to downtown Miami’s massive Ice Palace.  On Saturday night, the venue will open its huge indoor area for dancing, as well as outdoor terrace lounge for chilling.   The outdoor garden, complete with shade, seating, and DJ sets along with palm trees, verdant lawns, and bright yellow school buses, will be open for business all day on Sunday. As expected, the space will feature a unique layout, full bar and food for the entire 24 hours, and a fully customized sound system from Integral Sound.

The 2010 edition of Sunday School For Degenerates kicks off on the evening of Saturday, March 27th as Victor Calderone takes to the decks for a very special performance inside Ice Palace’s massive indoor area.  A veritable virtuoso of the scene, Pacha NYC resident DJ, Calderone has inspired, enthralled and entertained music fans the world over for 20+ years.  Lately, he has morphed his traditional tribal based sound into the realms of energizing techno, and doing so with amazing results.  This style has been on full display recently, including an inspired set at the Sunday School tent at the inaugural Electric Zoo festival in NYC.  Playing alongside Calderone will be Drumcode label head Adam Beyer.  Beyer has been a globetrotting ambassador of all things techno and the figurehead of the Swedish techno scene for well over a decade.

On Sunday morning and all day long, SSFD welcomes their eclectic lineup of techno heavyweights, beginning with Sunday School staple Adultnapper.  Every time he steps to the decks, he brings his haunting brand of micro rhythmic techno, enthralling and hypnotizing even the most jaded of audiences.   One of the most sophisticated and inspiring names in  techno, Frenchman Agoria brings his distinct sound to Miami for his Miami debut!  His Balance 016: Agoria is a huge 2CD mix which continues the compilation’s trend of releasing groundbreaking mixes from some of the world’s most forward thinking artists.  Dig Deeper founder and worldwide DJ favorite Danny Howells makes his first SSFD appearance this year.  Known for extended sets that push the limits of progressive, house, and techno, Danny Howells surely needs no further introduction.  Get Physical boss DJ T is veteran of the club scene for 20+ years and now leads one of the industry’s most respected labels.  He has just come off a world tour for his artist album The Inner Jukebox and his latest mix, Fabric 51: DJ T is out soon.  Parisian trio dOP have been relentlessly touring the world for the last three years and these Supplemental Facts favorites are bringing their unique and innovative live set.   One of the true underground hero’s of techno, Function is bringing his ferocious live set exclusively to Sunday School. Last year she was a newcomer, but with arguably one of the event’s favorite sets, Swedish Ida Engberg returns for round 2.   The king of eclectic techno and Tyrant partner Lee Burridge brings his wonky, bouncy, and sublime techno. Freude Am Tanzen and Vakant mainstay Mathias Kaden has built a unique sound based around funky and freaky rhythms drawn from global influences.  His latest album Studio 10 attests to Mathias’ ability to focus on quality over quantity, centering diverse live performances around simple beats.  A Circo Loco favorite, Moon Harbour’s Matthias Tanzmann is rooted in deep grooves with a sound that ranges from European influenced deep house on through to minimal, and bordering on advanced techno.  Another favorite, Mr.C has been an underground hero for over two decades.  His collaboration with Adultnapper, Sycophant Slags has just released their “Keep Off” EP and video on Poker Flat Recordings. Minus artist and spanish techno veteran Paco Osuna’s rich textures, analogue EFX, loose drum crescendos, and memorable vocal samples will highlight his set from this Plus 8 favorite.  Polish techno star Pawel plays exclusively for Sunday School, with a decade’s worth of single’s, a self titled artist album and the much respected label Orphanear to his credit. Adding something a little different to the stacked lineup of established techno heavyweights will be Frenchman Sébastien Léger adding his own signature sound to the mix.  Having recently been named #8 in Resident Advisor’s Best DJs of 2009 Poll, Seth Troxler has rapidly gained notoriety throughout the scene. From Detroit to Berlin and everywhere in between, Seth has made a name for himself playing some of the most unique sets in the business, while noticeably enjoying every minute he steps behind the decks. His next move for world domination is an unsurprisingly excellent compilation for BPitch’s Boogybytes Vol. 5. Boston upstarts Soul Clap have busted onto the scene in a big way.  With releases on Wolf + Lamb and Airdrop to their credit, they are able to throw down sets comprised of everything from deep house and techno mixed with R&B and soul elements.  Now returning for the 5th year, Dessous, Poker Flat, and Audiomatique founder Steve Bug has been one of the scene’s unsung pioneers and a Made Event favorite for some time. Tom Middleton brings his jedi mind tricks and canny ability to play almost any kind of music imaginable, while surprising all who think otherwise. Rounding out this massive lineup is Dessous favorite Vincenzo.  Drawing influence from the acid house movement of the late 80’s and bridging the gap between deep house and minimal, Vincenzo continues to reinvent electronic music, as well as collaborate with some of the scene’s finest.

“Made Event’s annual Sunday School for Degenerates party…has become mandatory for all of the WMC’s technoheads. It’s one of the conference’s best bashes, in vibe and in music.”Time Out New York
“WMC’s marquis techno party, Sunday School for Degenerates. A lesson in the afterhours.”Residentadvisor.net
“As for the crowd, its Miami’s most clued-up and cosmopolitan getting debauched and disheveled for one last time.” – DJ Mag
This party was for me the way all after-parties should be, and showed me what techno could be about and what my music can do.” – Guy Gerber

With summer just around the corner, what better way to embrace it than to bring the heat with the world’s best underground music! Made Event brings you New York’s finest weekly techno dance event on its premiere custom Integral Sound system. With some of Save the Cannibals finest residents taking to the decks this month, Saturday nights at Rebel are sure to start the summer off the right way.

JUNE 2 – STEVE BUG with PLEXUS
With an anticipated fourth LP on the way, Poker Flat head Steve Bug will be making his triumphant return to Save the Cannibals in June.  The original Cannibals resident marked the debut of this Saturday techno weekly in style over the winter and now is back to kick off the summer clubbing season.  His latest LP Collaboratory will be released in early June.  Based strongly on the ideas of collaboration, shared ideas, mutual respect for fellow artists and the strength of combining forces in the studio, Steve chose some very special producers and vocalists to work with on this exciting project.   Joining Steve on this night will be Minus cohort Plexus, a favorite around the New York minimal scene and beyond.  Plexus’ brand of dub infused minimalism has brought him notoriety from some of the scenes heaviest hitters, as well as notable gigs throughout the world.

JUNE 13 – MARTIN LANDSKY with TAIMUR
Another of Cannibals favorite residents will be making his return to the DJ booth of Rebel this month.  Martin Landsky is widely considered to be a member of the upper ranks of the techno community.  His penchant for deep music mixed with funky elements and sexy vocals make the Intim boss a favorite of clubbers worldwide.  With stand out sets from around the world, Martin Landsky will take to the decks and show New York City a sound that bridges techno, funk, minimal, and house.  Keep a lookout for Martin’s remix of f.e.x.’ “Can U Feel It” available on RobotronicTaimur’s  has cut his DJing chops with the best of the best.  For the last 3 years g his Blk|Market Membership parties have brought in members of the techno elite as well as the unsung heroes of the underground and undiscovered techno talent from around the globe to venues all across the city, Miami, and Detroit.

JUNE 20- SETH TROXLER with ERIC CLOUTIER
An artist who seems to be everywhere at the moment is back this month after his successful Cannibals debut.  Everyone’s favorite Berlin/Detroit transplant Seth Troxler is further proving why Resident Advisor had chosen him as an artist to watch for in 2009. He has provided dance floors with a string of smash hits on leading labels like Wagon Repair, Spectral Sound, and Crosstown Rebels.  His latest the ‘Aphrika’ EP on Brooklyn’s Wolf + Lamb Music is two parts. The namesake on part one is rife with poetic justice with words borrowed from Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” and part two from Nicolas Jaar is a minimal techno stormer with a remix by Seth. With DJ dates at some of the best clubs the world over, this rising star is quickly cementing his place as one of techno’s most original and forward thinking representatives. Another Detroit transplant, Eric Cloutier will provide the support on this night.  Eric has been quite busy of late with a constant DJ schedule and a new EP on the way Eric is finding himself amongst New York’s techno elite.

Onionz has definitely kept up with the music beat of the world, in his own words, “to keep it fresh, you just have to continuously create and consistently rock it!” Th*gfucker AKA Holmar Filipsson & Greg Oreck have recently wrapped up recording sessions in Rome for their upcoming album and will be finalizing the mixing in NYC, soon to be released on Th*gfucker Records with their unique combination of Tech House, Electro, and Minimal.

MARCH 7 – DENNIS FERRER & SEBO K with ANTHONY PARASOLE
Right place, right time may be the best way to sum up Dennis Ferrer in so many words. Always seeming to be on the forefront of current musical trends, Dennis is no stranger to crafting his sound to continually be regarded as one of the top producers in the industry. Dennis’ new imprint, Objektivity, has seen great success from some unlikely places and some from right around the block, giving an American take on the deep house revival sweeping Europe at the moment. The latest release teams up Ferrer’s protégés, The Martinez Brothers with Berlin’s Argy on “Debbie Downer” for a cross-continental dancefloor deep-tech vibe. No stranger to that revival is Sebo K, a long time key figure in Berlin’s electronic dance music community. With current deep house anthem “Diva”, Sebo’s music can be heard in many different DJ’s sets all over the globe. The American and German sound come together to create a special Objektivity night on New York’s hottest new sound system. After a solid opening set for Cassy, New York’s own son  Anthony Parasole will be back once again to set the night off just right.

MARCH 14  – GUIDO SCHNEIDER & DAMIAN SCHWARTZ with PLEXUS
Madrid based DJ and producer, Damian Schwartz comes to New York packed with an arsenal of his own personal feelings and concepts in modern electronic music, described as raw sequences, daily samples, strong patters, frantic rhythms and some innovation born in the streets of Spain. His own output can be heard on his own Mupa label and as a CMYK recording artist. Also no stranger to being locked in the studio, Guido Schneider from Poker Flat recordings fame has seen huge success with a string of massive releases and some choice remixes on Taksi and Minus. Joining the crew will be other Minus cohort Plexus, a local favorite around the New York minimal scene

MARCH 21 – SETH TROXLER & MATHIAS KADEN
Everyone’s favorite Berlin/Detroit transplant Seth Troxler will be making his Cannibals residency debut undoubtedly proving why Resident Advisor had chosen him as an artist to watch in 2009. Having smash hits on leading labels like Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels, this rising techno star is definitely drawing international attention and recognition. Germany’s Mathias Kaden has also been raising eyebrows over here in the U.S. after a rousing performance at DEMF. This Freude Am Tanzen & Vakant label mainstay’s unique repertoire includes funky and freaky rhythms enriched by African and South American percussions. This will be his exciting NYC debut! No need for an opener on this night, just the dynamic duo – Seth and Mathias. So come early and stay late until the lights come on.

MARCH 28 – JORIS VOORN BALANCE 014 CD RELEASE PARTY with illich Mujica
Dutch DJ/Producer Joris Voorn is hotly tipped as the next big thing, on the eve of the release of his magnificent Balance 014 compilation. Across two discs and using – remarkably – over 100 tracks, Joris constructs a complex, layered and seamless mix of some of the best tech house, minimal and electronic dance music. An epic mix in the very best sense of the word, Joris achieves the rare feat of combining variety and consistency, both on the album and on dancefloors alike. Joris will only be appearing on this U.S. tour at Save the Cannibals and the infamous Sunday School for Degenerates in Miami the following day, so get a spot front row on the dancefloor with Made Event. illich Mujica will be starting things off with his own unique blend of eclectic and dynamic dance floor material.

Joris Voorn Balance 014 is out April 7th on EQ Recordings.

Essentially following the Richie Hawtin blueprint of mixing many tracks at once into entirely new morasses of beautiful noise, over the course of two CDs, Voorn melts lush tech-house, minimal techno, deep electronica, folk and much more into a perfectly judged voyage across widescreen vistas, quite stunning in their escape.  This is truly DJing 2.0 – Joris Voorn belongs in the pantheon of dancefloor titans for this instant classic.” – DJ MAG (5/5)
