Made Event presents
LEE BURRIDGE
NEW YEAR’S EVE MASQUERADE
@ Santos Party House

The countdown has begun.  Made Event invites you to say goodbye to a fantastic decade and hello to the new – with the king of eclectic techno and perennial New York favorite, Lee Burridge at Santos Party House this New Year’s Eve on Thursday, December 31st, 2009.  The noughties were a dance music party that never ended and for this momentous masquerade,  Lee will soundtrack our collective farewell to the departing decade. Come in your finest masks or bearded disguises and get ready to ring in the new year with a special midnight toast in the city that never sleeps.

Lee Burridge has a reputation synonymous with musical creativity and amazing parties.  With a career that spans two decades, his sound still cannot truly be defined.  Never the less, it is a sound that has been showcased in almost every major club and festival from Israel to America and Asia to South Africa.    His wonky, bouncy and sublime house and techno sets have provided NYC with some of its most exciting nights in recent memory.  Over the years a special bond has forged between Lee and the Big Apple, so it only seems appropriate that we usher in the New Year by allowing him to take control and mastermind the dancefloor of downtown boite Santos Party House as only he can.  If you witnessed his sets at the annual San Francisco Love parade, Burning Man, Save the Cannibals or his infamous WMC soiree’s The Burridge Barrage, you know to expect the unexpected when he digs through the crates.  But one thing is certain, his blend of funky house, tech house and pulsating techno never fails to move the body and stimulate the mind.  Once the don of the Hong Kong club scene and  Tyrant partner with Craig Richards, Burridge has undoubtedly etched his name amongst dance music’s most elite while maintaining a position as  a crowd favorite the world over.

MICHAEL MAYER (Kompakt)
& SUPERPITCHER (Kompakt)
Supermayer will save the world. Again.

Look out! It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s Supermayer! The dynamic super duo of two of Kompakt Record’s brightest stars, Michael Mayer and Superpitcher (aka Askel Shaufler) join forces to save the world again at Santos Party House on Thursday, September 25th.

This lighthearted combo of minimal masterminds came together to form a bond to boldly go where they had not gone before. Inspired by their interests in using a wide variety of musical genres, they created the collaborative production team called Supermayer. This spunky and charmingly playful group came out with the album “Save the World” in 2007. Supermayer has created a sonically diverse style that ranges from grinding techno to electro-pop by blending the use of electronic and organic instruments. Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Our high pedigree heroes are able to leap to new levels of audio bliss with a single bound, creating adoring audiences across the globe. All this is achieved under the label of Kompakt, one of the most prolific and respected labels in the industry. Not flinching in taking risks, the fearless duo sonically experiment with enough pounding dance beats, stratospheric synth washes, and electrified robot voices in their arsenal to slay even the most stubborn of rhythm-haters. Supermayer describe their music as “sexy, deep, dark, dangerous, and sometimes a bit jolly.” This heavy hitting team of Kompakt’s reveled professionals have their mission statement firmly established and will continue to circle the universe with the cure for common techno. This will be a much anticipated, out of this world event that humanity cannot afford to miss!

French lucky boys burn the Santos’ house!

The last two weeks of Ete d’Amour are upon us! French electronic music label Ed Banger Records takes over Santos Party House with label head honcho Busy P and DJ Mehdi on Thursday, September 18th at downtown’s newest nightlife destination.

Founded in 2002, Ed Banger records rose to dramatic fame under the helm of influential Pedro Winters (formerly Daft Punk’s manager) with a number of artists exploding onto the nu-rave-electro-house-indie-disco-rock scene, most notably with French electronic group Justice and their remix of Simian’s “Never Be Alone.” The music video for the single, Justice vs. Simian – “We Are Your Friends” won the award for best video at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006. The label is also home to burgeoning French sensations Sebastian, Uffie, Krazy Baldhead, DJ Mehdi, Mr Oizo, Mr Flash, Vicarious Bliss, So Me, Feadz, DSL, Mickey Moonlight, and Winter himself, under the alias Busy P.

ÂME (Frank Wiedermann)
BOOMBASS (from Cassius)

Ete D’Amour is counting down to its last four weeks of the summer of love!  On Thursday, September 11th, we bring together two-halves to create a greater whole. Frank Wiederman, one-half of Âme, the soulful, deep house duo from Berlin joins Parisian hip-hop evangelist Boombass, one-half of Cassius at Santos Party House.

Âme are German duo Kristian Beyer & Frank Wiedemann. Inspired by the music of Stevie Wonder, West End Rec, Transmat, Weather Report and Herbie Hancock, they make Detroit-influenced deep house and music with soul. Now Âme is gearing up to launch Fabric 42, the vaulted club-mix series this Fall 2008.  On the highly anticipated compilation, Âme create a kaleidoscopic blend of electronics and infectious grooves. They have created their own soundscape here with an all-star cast, which breathes a magical soundtrack to the last days of summer and beyond.

Hubert Blanc-Francart, better known as Boombass, is one half of the highly acclaimed duo Cassius (with Philippe Zdar), who have occupied the upper echelons of French electronica since1999.  Hubert has been a tireless evangelist of hip hop, producing MC Solaar’s milestone album, Qui Seme Le Vent Recolte Le Tempo in the early Nineties, which was the first peak in a wave of dance music hip-hop, house, drum & bass, reggae and techno that now dominates the French charts. The legendary Parisian electro-house duo Cassius have since released their third studio album 15 Again in 2006 featuring the international dancefloor smash “Toop Toop”, the soulful “Rock Number One” and the Pharrell Williams collaboration “Eye Water”.

The one and only Respect party is back in New York with its club festival ÉTÉ D’AMOUR, to celebrate the summer! A long overdue comeback to the NYC nightlife landscape, Respect unites with Le Jean De and first-class promoters Made Event for a sizzling summer series destined to reclaim downtown nightlife for NYC’s own ÉTÉ D’AMOUR. Expect a twist of legendary DJs, fresh sounds, new sensations, incessant flirting, and lots of romance.
