Made Event presents
Paco Osuna
Special Extended Halloween Set
Come dressed to kill

Made Event presents the Spanish techno Inquisidor Paco Osuna for a spooky special Halloween extended set at Love on Saturday, October 31, 2009.

Paco Osuna proves once again that he’s in a league of his own when it comes to serving up futuristic nuggets of southern fried techno. It really is anything but minimal these days as layer upon layer of rich textures combine, guaranteeing maximum overdrive. And it’s not only the choice and combination of sounds, or the full-on party vibe Paco instinctively achieves that drive, clarity and warmth, his breathtaking mixdowns add a 3 dimensional quality, enhancing the all round listening experience. The stunning soundsystem at Love is sure to give those pesky trick-or-treaters something to scream about.

With his massive, samba-esque bassline, avalanches of analogue EFX, loose drum crescendos and memorable vocal samples. Paco takes us on a journey of huge build-ups and intense, reverb drenched breakdowns to deliver some heart in the mouth moments – just light the fuse and watch him burn the dancefloor.

Berlin-based Techno stalwarts, Minus return to Miami this year when Richie Hawtin & guests take over the outdoor Buddha Gardens at Karu & Y, with its flowing river, white tented cabanas and lush greenery. Since 1998, Hawtin’s label has inspired a small family of like-minded artists, DJs, and a new generation of producers to join his side, creating one of the most close-knit collectives in electronic music today. This exclusive event brings the Minus Artists and the Minus sound with its varied and unique mix of minimal and techno, heralding influences from the past with a strong sonic focus on the future. Armed with the newest technology in DJ-ing and live performances, this is a must-see label showcase from the leading luminaries of the Techno scene.

Richie Hawtin is a name not only synonymous with the word DJ but also with the word technology. No stranger to innovation and creativity, Richie will be headlining his own label imprint’s premiere US event of the year to kick off the 2009 dance music calendar. Marco Carola has emerged in the last decade to be one of Italy’s most influential exports of techno and electronic music, now with his own string of releases on Minus sub-label 2M, including his latest “The Tribe”. Spaniard Paco Osuna, well known for his energetic and carefully crafted DJ sets, will be bringing his effects and laptops to drive the dancefloor into a frenzy. Troy Pierce has been on a tirade of clubs all over the world recently  and now emerges with his new full length album, Autumn under his Louderbach alias. Expect to hear some samplings of the Minus album peppered in his dynamic DJ sets. Canadian transplant Konrad Black returns to Miami, after the conclusion of his own U.S. tour for his entry into the Watergate compilation series for the esteemed, eponymous Berlin nightclub. Argentina’s Barem joins the Minus crew for his U.S. debut. First inspired by a trip to Berlin, his groovy minimal tracks integrate the rhythmic nuances of his native Argentinian roots for a simplistically complex, uniquely funky and heady sound. Both Gaiser and JPLS are geared up to deliver two distinct and dynamic live sets, with their seamless hardware integration and plug-in wizardry that are sure to set off the crowds to maximal effect.

For a minimal sampling to whet your palette, be sure to check out the latest Minus release, the Midnight Teeth EP by Bryan Zentz on Plus 8 and subscribe to the new Minus Podcast on iTunes.  Each month the Podcast will release an eclectic mix of tracks submitted by Minus artists and friends. Made Event presents PACO OSUNA with Adultnapper @ Cielo – November 14th, 2008

Friday, November 14th, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Paco Osuna

Friday, November 14th, 2008
Made Event presents
PACO OSUNA
w/
Adultnapper

Made Event proudly presents highly acclaimed Spanish minimal techno DJ/Producer Paco Osuna with Adultnapper at Cielo on Friday, November 14th , 2008.

Paco Osuna‘s driving and pulsating brand of techno fuses tribal percussive beats along side the more clinical surgical sounds associated with the Minus label and the likes of Richie Hawtin and Gaiser. Being at home with both house and techno, as well as in the fusion between them, Osuna views his sets as an “in-crescendo”-journey causing variations of tension that drive the dancefloor crazy.  The combination between this factor and his unquestionable technical skills make Paco is one of the leading, emerging  forces in the scene.

Paco began his claim to fame in 1999 with a residency at the Amnesia in Ibiza, where he was greatly influenced by Sven Väth, both personally and professionally.  Osuna’s interest for the harder sounds such as techno grew, but he never left behind his passion for house music.  Soon after, Paco signed to the Serial Killer label where he released “I Can Feel My Blood Pumpin’” and “Me Vuelve Loca” on the Serial Killer EPs “Groove Grill” and “Beat Hacker”.  More recently he has put out releases with Plus 8 Records including the tracks “Crazy” and “Orbeat”.

Joining Osuna for this epic techno filled night is none other than the dark and complex techno DJ/Producer Francis Harris, better known as Adultnapper.  His unique sound has lead to his prolific career with productions appearing on Audiomatique, Nummer, Mule, Dirt Crew, and Superfreq.  Harris’s exceptional technical skills generate complex arrangements that encompass highly creative and well designed baselines and micro-rhythms.  In 2007, Harris launched Ransom Note, a concept label which, through music, text and imagery, will tell the story of the Adultnapper character, an anti-hero who is part creative genius gone awry, part tortured dystopic philosopher, part paranoid vigilante outlaw… and part Harris himself.  Adultnapper’s enigmatic Ransom Note series continues with it’s third episode. This time the plot thickens as the narrative’s shadowy author fades to the background, setting the stage for the prophetic return of Alexi Delano in the form of ADNY, with two revelatory new tracks. The Forms EP also sees the introduction of the story’s first heroine, NYC’s own Berlin transplant Camea, who rises to the challenge of remixing “Under My Skin.” Out now on collectible 12″ vinyl with color picture sleeve featuring drawings by John Stroud and text by Adultnapper.
