Pacha New York Wins Top Honors At WMC
Best Superclub at Club World Awards
& Best U.S. Club at International Dance Music Awards

Pacha NYC returns to New York after a week of wildly successful parties at Winter Music Conference with record attendance and sold-out, at-capacity shows. Amidst the frenzy, Pacha NYC brings home five Disco Globes for the 2009 Club World Awards, including top honors for; ‘Best Superclub’, ‘Best Resident DJ’ – Victor Calderone, ‘Best Resident LJ’ – Timmy Lights, ‘Best DJ Set’ – David Guetta and ‘Best One Off‘ – One Night Only: An AM Only Event. This is the first time that any venue has received the top recognition for Best Superclub three years in a row.

At the 24th annual International Dance Music Awards (IDMAs) held at the Winter Music Conference, the dance music industry gathered to celebrate and pay tribute to exceptional achievements and innovation throughout the year. Over 10,000 ballots were tallied in 50 categories for the most pioneering and elite artist, technology and professionals in the business and in the category of ‘Best U.S. Club’; Pacha NYC beat out tough competition from Miami, Las Vegas, NYC and Chicago. In addition to the accolades in Miami, from across the pond, the UK’s international clubbing bible DJ Mag ranks the “The World’s Best Clubs” in its annual April roundup. The internationally renown Pacha flagship club, Pacha Ibiza ranked #7 and Pacha NYC came in at #30 worldwide.

After a successful week of awards and Pacha parties all over Miami, Eddie Dean co-owner of Pacha NYC exuded, “This year we really sought to make our presence known and brought the Pacha brand to Miami by taking over the Royal Palms Hotel for the week and hosting pool parties and nightclub parties at various venues with some of our biggest DJs.  By importing our own support staff of managers, dancers, security, promotions team and PR, we were able to continue to bring the superior quality of nightlife professionalism that is associated with the Pacha brand. Pacha NYC presents white hot Australian house DJ/Producer DIRTY SOUTH on Saturday, November 8th.

It would be difficult to name a new artist who has had more impact on the scene over the last couple of years than Dirty South aka Dragan Roganovic.  It was 2006 and Dirty South’s killer remix of Evermore’s “It’s Too Late” that his career really began to skyrocket. The remix was easily among the year’s biggest tracks in clubland and in addition to being licensed to over 30 compilations worldwide, the track was nominated for ‘Best Alternative Dance Release’ at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami. Since that pivotal moment Dirty South has gone on to remix countless world renowned artists such as Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Tracy Thorn, Snoop Dogg, Tiesto and Roger Sanchez among many others. By no means purely a remix specialist, Dirty South has produced an impressive number of high quality EPs and singles. “Let It Go”, “Open Your Heart”, “Minority” and The Doors sampling “The End” have been all been club-smashing anthems that have received support from right across the board.

Continuing their policy of investing in white-hot, breakthrough talent, Toolroom Records enlisted Australian DJ/producer Dirty South to provide a mix for the prolific Toolroom Knights series. After efforts from label boss Mark Knight and Radio 1 DJ Dave Spoon, the series is quickly garnering a reputation for cutting-edge mixes that push the boundaries of House music.

Made Event presents the highly anticipated return of renowned Swedish DJ and producer ERIC PRYDZ at Pacha NYC on Friday, October  17th, 2008 along with Basic NYC DJs Sleepy&Boo.

Eric Prydz propelled to fame after his 2004 hit single “Call on Me” topped the UK singles charts for five weeks and held the number one spot on the German Top100 for six consecutive weeks.  Now, Prydz has again reached the upper echelon of the UK charts, with his beautiful piano-led instrumental track ‘Pjanoo’ hitting the number two spot.  It was playlisted at Radio 1, Kiss, Capital and Galaxy over 2 months before release, and is currently one of the hottest singles of 2008.  The track has already received many acclamations including Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune, Zane Lowe’s Single of the Week, Record of the Week for Jo Whiley, and numerous others. He is also currently riding high on the Beatport Top 100 download chart with the #1, 5 and 7 spots respectively with “Rakfunk”, “Wakanpi”, and “Evouh” on Pryda Recordings.

Eric Prydz is on a roll at the moment with his labels Mouseville, Pryda Recordings and Pryda Friends positively brimming with underground club hits.  Pryda Recordings recently such saw the release of Pryda 012, a unique release as it is the first time the label has released three tracks on any format: “Evouh”, “Wakanpi” and “Rakfunk”.  In addition, Mouseville’s Mouse 009 is set for release on October 13th, again another unique release as it is the first time an artist other than Cirez D has been released by the label.  Mouse 009 features the track “Ron Hardy Said” by Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers.

Eric is now in charge of three highly respected labels whose releases are in feverish demand, consistently selling huge quantities of vinyl which is truly incredible in the markets current climate. The labels are arguably proving to be the most successful and forward thinking imprints currently existing. Each label was strictly developed to give Eric a platform to release his own productions without outside interference, simply his music on his terms. It was important for Eric to step back after his previous successes and release music without schedules and pressure. Ultimately he wanted to control his own image and destiny, something extremely important to him and his career. The ethos behind the labels was truly underground, scarcely any promotion, no press intrusion and true label design/identity… a formula which has proven massively successful.
