Randall’s Island Park has long enjoyed its position as a recreational hub for Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs for over half a century.  Centrally located on the banks of the East River, it is easily accessible from all points by car, bus, bicycle, pedestrian and ferry.  With plenty of acreage of grass to dance, chill and roam along with some of the city’s most stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Randall’s Island is no doubt the perfect venue for the Electric Zoo festival.  With every ticket sold, a $2 donation goes toward the beautification of Randall’s Island through environmental art and stewardship.

Made Event presents
MARKUS SCHULZ
w/ Zack Roth
@ Pacha NYC

Proton Sessions in the Basement featuring:
Royal Sapien (Proton, Olaris)
Jacob Henry (Silk Royal, microCastle)
Matt Lange (Armada, Black Hole)
Dezza (Silk, Dezire)

Made Event presents the return of Coldharbour Recordings boss and new wave trance superstar Markus Schulz along with NYC favorite Zack Roth at Pacha NYC with a special Proton Sessions in the basement on Friday, May 7th, 2010.

Through his natural audience affinity, flawless mixing and innate tune selection, Markus Schulz has wowed crowds in every major area of the world for over a decade. Though an active DJ and producer during the 1990’s, it was not until the 2000’s when he began to reach mass audiences with his, now trademark, trance sound. Now a regular fixture at the world’s most famous clubs, arenas and festivals, Schulz lays down his unique musical vision on a weekly basis. In Europe, he has smashed events like Trance Energy, Nature One, Dance Valley, Creamfields and Global Gathering. At home in the USA, he has graced the decks of the colossal Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Festivals, as well as the inaugural Electric Zoo.  After several significant showings in the Top 100 DJs chart, he now ranks as one of the top 10 DJs in the world.

On top of his globetrotting tour schedule, Markus manages to broadcast his weekly radio show, the Global DJ Broadcast.  The show puts a spotlight on Schulz dark, melodic trance sound on over 50 stations worldwide.  Now in its fifth year, the show has continued to be a beacon for an always-growing throng of trance & progressive dance fans.   His label Coldharbour Recordings also provides Schulz with a platform to release his own material as well as work from some of progressive music’s most gifted producers.  Now on the threshold of its 100th release “Dark Heart Waiting”, Coldharbour has firmly established itself as a premier destination for quality trance and progressive music.

Now, after 18 months of studio sessions, Schulz is set to release Do You Dream, the follow up to his 2007 acclaimed artist album Progression.  Since the earliest days of his label, fans and critics alike have seen Schulz as both the leading-light pioneer and ultimate standard-bearer of trance’s new wave. The album instantly absorbs the listener back into that world, delivering a masterful start-to-finish audio experience.  From the first track Do You Dream charts a tightly-plotted course uniquely his own, embracing housey percussion, swirling atmospheric progressive, drum & bass-ish bass lines, stunningly-cultivated vibrant trance riffs and a myriad of other sounds, effects and minutiae styles.  The album features some of the scene’s finest vocalists including Jennifer Rene, Justine Suissa, and Ana Criado and contains tracks which have been highlights of Markus Schulz sets since 2008, like “The New World”, “Perception”, and the album’s title track.  You can also check out Markus’ sound on his latest mix for April’s DJ Magazine, which marks the 15th anniversary of UK clubbing institution The Gallery.

‘Do You Dream’ will be released on June 12 on Armada Music.

Special Extended Set With AlterImage

Cloud Break Recordings Record Release Party
Emjae, Clouded Minds, Zach Roth, Mike Swells, DJ Eco

Made Event presents globe-trotting DJ Markus Schulz, playing an extended set at Pacha with AlterImage on Friday, May 23rd.

2008 kicks off with the release of Markus Schulz’s fourth compilation ‘Amsterdam 08’ for Armada Music This album follows in the footsteps of Miami 05 and Ibiza 06, and Markus Schulz couldn’t be happier about its origins – Amsterdam is his spiritual home thanks to the overwhelming passion of the people resident there. “I always choose cities that are dear to me for my annual mix compilation” says Markus. “I just love Amsterdam, I feel a real connection there – my friends there are like my family. The people of Holland were one of the first to embrace and accept me and my sound, so it was the natural choice to do the 08 mix there.”

Markus’ brand of dark, melodic trance is in demand the world over; his weekly Global DJ Broadcast radio show is now syndicated to over 30 stations worldwide, his shows have taken in everywhere from Australia to Russia, China to Trinidad, and many other destinations along the way, and 2008 is set to bring more dates in Australia, as well as Asia and South America. Amsterdam 08 is a must-have album for dance fans everywhere, and comprises Markus’ top tracks from 2007 and hot tips for 2008.

Next up, Markus Schulz is firing on all cylinders at the moment with four massive new remixes of his 2007 smash track, “Daydream”. The remixes come from some of the hottest producers on the scene right now. Einar K and Lemon storm in with two takes on the original, the Progressive Remix and the stunning Uplifting Remix, which is guaranteed to give you goose-bumps with its soaring euphoric melodies and driving basslines. Progressive-trance master Benya turns in his hand, providing a beautifully dubby, dreamy track perfect for those sun-soaked terrace mornings. Finally German sensation Ronski Speed lets loose a thundering new mix with bass-heavy rhythms wrapped around the original tune and vocals.

His second artist album, Progression, released in 2007, offers listeners a slice of his trademark dark, melodic trance, alongside chilled tracks, guitars, and sublime vocals. Says Markus, “Progression was conceived in the summer, whereas the debut album was done and released in winter, so Progression is less dark, and more influenced by sunny days in Miami. ‘Trinidad to Miami’ was actually written while I was flying over the ocean with the sun shining on the water, and encapsulates that feeling of optimism and happiness.”

Markus, who also runs his own Coldharbour label, has over the past three years crossed the globe on an almost constant basis; from Australia to Russia, and as far away as China and Trinidad. Along with playing his hometown of Miami, Markus was also found in Ibiza at his summer residency at Amnesia; The Two Tribes Tour in Australia and New Zealand; Tomorrowland in Belgium; Mysterland and Trance Energy in The Netherlands; Nature One in Germany; Distant Heat in Jordan, and clubs in Kuala Lumpur, Romania, Czech Republic, Mexico, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Slovakia, UK, Boston, Los Angeles, and New York, as the list goes on. With Markus showing no sign of slowing down in 2008, he is a man on a mission to meet the world.

Markus Schulz Amsterdam 08 is out now on Armanda Music.
Markus Schulz “Daydream” remixes is out June 23 on Coldharbour Records.
