Pacha NYC presents
DUBFIRE

[Special extended set: open to close]

Pacha NYC presents a special extended performance from four-time nominated, Grammy Award-winning artist,  the prolific techno DJ and producer DUBFIRE on Saturday, February 6th, 2010. As the musical mastermind of the entire night, Dubfire will be at the helm of the music from the beginning to the very end.

Few artists can boast the kind of critical and commercial success Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia has managed to achieve. Dubfire has proved his versatility not only as a world-respected powerhouse artist, but also a sought-after remixer and all around risk-taker. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names and released an array of notable remixes, productions, acclaimed artist albums, and mix CD’s landing him at the top of multiple “best of” charts, all the while unknowingly setting a merciless musical standard difficult for others to follow.

After 15 ground-breaking years topping charts as one-half of Deep Dish, Dubfire’s solo creative journey to explore musical boundaries has since garnered world-wide appeal as fans and critics alike embraced his new unexpected, deep and evocative sound. Shaped by his love for a wide range of musical influences and his insistence on pushing the envelope musically, Dubfire’s less mainstream, darker sound proves he can conquer both dance music’s commercial and underground. 2009 was a momentous year for Dubfire . His production partnership with techno maestro Oliver Huntemann brought the electronic dance scene to its knees with the release of three massive dance floor hits: “Diablo”, “Dios”, and most recently “Fuego”. He won his third Beatport Award as “Best Techno Artist”, 8 of his production/remixes are listed on Beatport’s “Best of DJ Charts, 2009″ with “Split the Line” remaining as one of Beatport’s top sellers, and his latest single “Rabid” is on the “Beatport Top 10” list.

2010 will mark yet another banner year as Dubfire’s momentum powers on. Amidst his busy touring schedule, he continues to nurture fresh talent worldwide with his own label, Science + Technology Digital Audio, and his collaboration with Oliver Huntemann has a host of exciting productions lined up to be released this year. Dubfire has earned the reputation as one of  the most forward-thinking artists and he continues to prove himself as a dance floor heavyweight while exploring new sounds and staying true to his “punk ethic”. Renowned for his flawless mixing and ability to tease the crowd with minimal goodness, don’t miss this special extended set from one of America’s dance music’s icons.

Pacha NYC & Sci+Tec present
DUBFIRE
[Deep Dish]

Pacha NYC presents Grammy Award winning member of Deep Dish, DUBFIRE at Pacha NYC on Friday, December 26th.

Few artists can boast a resume like Ali “Dubfire” Shirazania can.  A body of work that includes Grammy Awards, performances at the world’s finest venues, collaborations with some of the biggest artists around and of course his partnership as 1/2 of the legendary electronic duo DEEP DISH.  With an array of remixes, productions, mix CD’s, as well as critically and commercially acclaimed artist albums, Dubfire has been able to do what few other electronic artists have, conquer the world of underground electronic music, as well as make a significant impact within the mainstream.  Following a creative hiatus from partner Sharam, Dubfire started his foray into solo artist expression with “I Feel Speed”, an indie rock/techno mash up that, in addition to top notch production, saw him step up to the microphone for vocal duties.  The now classic “Roadkill” and “Ribcage” followed, the former being nominated for the “Club Banger of the Year” award at the Club World Awards and the latter being one of Beatports top 100 singles of all time, along with his remix of “Grindhouse” which was designated Beatport’s #3 Best Single of 2008. He also put out a variety of remixes on such prestigious labels as Cocoon, Get Physical, M_NUS, and Rekkids, as well as a critically acclaimed 2CD mix for Global Underground.

2008 has continued this impressive trend for Dubfire.  His Science + Technology Digital Audio (Sci + Tec) imprint has grown from a platform for original productions to release a wide array of formats, as well as break in new talent such as Delete, Paul Ritch, The Dolphins and a hot, new release from South America’s Rocha & Lewinger entitled “Dub Screamer/Santiago.” The label also currently boasts a roster of proven talent that includes Steve Lawler, Christian Smith & John Selway, and Zoo Brazil.  After receiving two Beatport awards (Best Minimal and Best Techno Artist), completing remixes for UNKLE, RadioSlave, and Booka Shade, and a #30 spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s list, one can see that Dubfire continues to prove himself as a dance floor heavyweight while staying true to his “punk ethic” that, in his own words, “must be groundbreaking, futuristic, unique, and organic.” Recently, Dubfire formed a new production collaboration with Oliver Huntemann with their first release “Dios” out now on Ideal Records.
