IDA ENGBERG Since the mid-90s, Swedish techno pioneer Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label has become synonymous with the techno sound of Sweden, with Beyer and Joel Mull forming the nexus of the Swedish Techno mafia. Joined by Pär Grindvik, newly anointed ‘Producer of 2007’ by Beyer, his live sets are inspired by memories and music from the past, combined with the future of techno. Another techno upstart is Indiana-based producer Kyle Geiger, the first American to release on Drumcode and named Beyer’s “Breakthrough DJ of 2008.” Rounding out the techno testosterone is the eclectic Ida Engberg. Together these artists have evolved from the harder, percussive stylings of the late 90′s Swedish Techno sound and continue to bridge the gap into the future of the modern Techno sound. In 2008, Beyer is planning to take Drumcode to the next level with more shows and promotion with a string of releases and remixes on Drumcode and sub-label Truesoul from the likes of Perc, Joey Beltram, Len Faki, 2000 and One, Paco Osuna, Kyle Geiger, Hardcell, Pär Grindvik, Ortin Cam, Smith & Selway, Raudive, Patrik Skoog, Museum, Nihad Tule, JPLS, Martinez and Cirez D. 10pm – 5am
