As the summer season reaches its peak, Matter/:Form and Made are gearing up to launch the Sunday School For Degenerates weekend with a special edition of the Overboard Boat Party on Sunday, August 31st with first class Degenerates Steve Bug & Adultnapper.

The Bug is back. Following his third Sunday School for Degenerates appearance at this year’s past Winter Music Conference, Poker Flat Recordings label head Steve Bug comes to New York for the inaugural edition of Sunday School for Degenerates in NYC.  Now, this proven Degenerate is about to release his newest mix compilation titled “Bugnology 3,” following from the pioneering and heralded ‘Bugnology’ mix in 2004, and the equally outstanding ‘Bugnology 2′ in 2006. The mix presents a detailed, mesmerizing journey through Bug’s current musical addiction and also takes a snapshot of a very exciting time in dance music - where genres and barriers are continually being broken, in the name of exciting, forward thinking and free-flowing house music.

NYC’s arch tech selector Adultnapper is set to release the next installment of Steve Bug’s Audiomatique imprint with its second label compilation, Audiomatique Volume 2.0. The album is a descent into the deepest realms of electronic rhythm, veering from the spare crisp minimalism of Gui Boratto and Martin Eyerer’s ‘The Beach’, to the moody, strobe lit melancholy of Minus producer Gaiser’s ‘Found Guilty Mix’ of Adultnapper’s own ‘Juror no. 9’. A perfect snapshot of the label’s diverse roster, Adultnapper subtly builds the mix from stripped back, echoic grooves to tougher club battering technoid epics. It’s Adultnapper‘s mix that illustrates the electronic zeitgeist of the moment and offers a glimpse of where house and techno are heading in the future.

The Overboard Boat Party will also feature a tour of New York City’s Public Art Project “WATERFALLS” by the celebrated artist Olafur Eliasson. Get up-close at the cascading splendor of the breathtaking waterfall scenes as well as the Manhattan skyline, the Brooklyn Bridge, Governor’s Island, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.

Come sail away for this “prerequisite” party to embark on a full-on degenerate weekend. The degeneration continues the same night at the Sunday School for Degenerates party at Rebel and concludes at Monday’s Afterschool Special at The Yard.

Now the Toolroom Records head honcho puts the needle to the record for the latest offering from the label’s compilation series. Paxahua Celebrates Ten Years of Premiere Electronic Music Events with Three Nights of Music and a New Website

Paxahau, a Detroit music and event promotions group, electrifies the city with three days of music and a new website to celebrate their ten year anniversary.  The event kicks off at Exodus on Thursday night, August 28th, 2008 and continues on Saturday night at Oslo, Sunday day at Z’s Villa and Sunday night at Northern Lights Lounge, all located in Detroit.

“This project has been an incredible adventure over the past 10 years and has accomplished a lot here in Detroit,” said founder Jason Huvaere, “A weekend of music with old friends Minus and Perlon celebrates not only Detroit and Paxahau, but also recognizes the international relations that have supported the Detroit music scene.”

From online broadcasting to a full-service booking agency, record label and event promotions, Paxahau has established itself as a powerhouse in Detroit, contributing to over 20 events a year, including Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival.

A long awaited new version of paxahau.com will be launched Friday afternoon, August 29, 2008, with updated features to support Detroit’s electronic music community and Paxahau events.  The site will have features including; photo galleries, event calendars, community events and blogs, electronic music supporters, Movement updates; and coming this fall, a new online radio show.

Sushi bar by day and intimate dance club by night, Oslo will host the second night of music with Zip and Chuck Flask beginning at 10 pm.

Minus joins Paxahau for the celebration at Z’s Villa, located on Piquette Street, featuring DJ’s Richie Hawtin, Magda, Rich Korach and Dan Bain, from 1-10 pm with volleyball, horseshoes and a lunch menu.

Made Event presents Dave Dresden (formerly of Gabriel & Dresden) for his solo debut at Cielo on Friday, August 29th, 2008.

Back in 2001, Dave Dresden partnered with Josh Gabriel to form the internationally successful DJ/production duo, Gabriel & Dresden. Soon after the group formed, they gained recognition through their numerous remixes for dance tracks including Tiesto’s “In My Memory” and pop titles including “Don’t Leave Home” by Dido and “Intuition” and “Serve the Ego” by Jewel. Their first single, “Lament”, was released to much critical acclaim in 2002 on Satoshi Tomiie’s Saw Recordings. In 2006, their self titled debut studio album was named as the “2006 Album of the Year” by M8 magazine.

Dresden’s contribution to the duo led to 18 No. 1 positioned singles and remixes (and two others with both Chris Cox and Attention Deficit) on Billboard’s Club Play Chart. The worldwide smash hit which Dresden released with Josh and Motorcycle, “As the Rush Comes,” hit the #1 spot on the US’s Dance Radio Airplay chart in 2004 and No. 11 in the UK national singles chart. As DJs, Gabriel & Dresden reached No. 20 on the prestigious DJ Magazine Poll for 2006 and Best American DJ in 2007 and 2008 at the Annual Winter Music Conference International Dance Music Awards. Gabriel & Dresden parted ways in March of 2008.

Now embarking on his solo career, Dresden continues to accelerate and his various successes have allowed him to remix artists including The Killers, Britney Spears & Madonna, Paul Oakenfold, and many more.
