MOVEMENT 2009 $45 WEEKEND PASS;
GOES UP TO $50 ON MAY 15th

Movement 2009 pre-sale weekend passes will only be $45 until Friday, May 15th, when they will increase to $50. Movement weekend passes have been selling at a rapid pace. The numbers of passes sold are already double what they were last year at this time.

“We are very proud of the fact that even in this tough economy we were able to keep the weekend passes to Movement moderately priced,” said Jason Huvaere, Director of the Festival. “It’s the largest electronic music event in the country and the experience we are able to give music fans is far greater than the price of the ticket.  There is no place else where someone can go to see 36 hours of music on four stages being performed by world-renowned musicians at this ticket price.”

As of Sunday, May 10 some 2,377 weekend passes have been purchased for Movement 2009.  At the same time last year, only 1,141 weekend passes had been purchased for Movement 2008.  VIP ticket purchases are up this year to 422 from 273 last year.

Movement 2009 organizers are encouraging electronic music enthusiasts to take advantage of the discount presale weekend pass special.  Prices will increase at the gate. They will be:

* $30 for an Individual Day Pass
* $60 for a Weekend Pass
* $150 for a VIP Pass

On average between 6,000 and 10,000 tickets are bought at the gate each of the three days of the festival.

Passes can be purchased online at www.wantickets.com.  Movement Weekend Passes can also be purchased (cash only) at various locations including: 323East in Royal Oak; Spectacles in Detroit; Record Time in Roseville; and Gramophone in Chicago.  VIP tickets can also be purchased at 323 East in Royal Oak and Spectacles in Detroit.

Last year nearly 80,000 people passed through the turnstiles at Hart Plaza for Movement 2008.

Made Event presents
MISSTRESS BARBARA
@ Cielo

Made Event transports the Canadian star Mistress Barbara as she graces us with her light on Friday, May 22nd at Cielo.

Not afraid to expose her vulnerable side, Mistress Barbara speaks out her heart and soul as she embarks on a whole new adventure with the release of I’m No Human, her first album as a songwriter out on Maple Music Recordings in May 2009. One of the most remarkable aspects is that the album sees Barbara herself on vocals. Lush melodies overlay her minimalist beats accompanied her intoxicating femme fatale voice unraveling a happy development born out of unhappy circumstance.

The album is her most personal to date and inspired from a personal loss in the family, the passing of her late father.  “I know he would be very, very proud.  He played guitar, violin, piano,” Barbara says. On recording violins in the studio, she adds, “I had tears in my eyes. He would be so happy.

Pouring out her feelings in I’m No Human, Barbara shines on through a cover from Leonardo Cohen’s “Dance Me To The End of Love” on the album;  “Everything in my life is for love. I do everything for love and I undo everything for love.” Additional contributions from Sam Roberts, Brazilian Girls and Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John.

Dave Seaman is one of the original pioneers of house music. He has been DJing for over 25 years, was the first editor of the clubbers bible; Mixmag, and has remixed and produced for everybody from U2 to David Bowie. He has also done over 20 mix compilations for the likes of Global Underground and Renaissance and been the main man behind the independent dance music labels, Stress Records and Audio Therapy.  Maintaining one of the busiest tour schedules in the business, Dave consistently finds himself at all corners of the globe pioneering a sound that only two decades of experience can produce.  Despite the constant touring, Dave still finds time for studio work of the highest caliber.  He was tapped by the Renaissance flagship mix series for the 10th installment, Renaissance: The Masters Series 10 and another compilation for his own label Audio Therapy recordings – Therapy Sessions 4 mixed by Dave Seaman. His recent collaboration with Josh Gabriel entitled “Hayaah” is sure to set dance floors ablaze this summer and with several new productions and two compilations on the horizon, Dave Seaman maintains his status as one of the busiest figures in the business.

You can tell when Nick Warren‘s on the decks when the music emanating from the DJ booth is that perfect club mix of driving percussion and soaring musicality. With over two decades of experience Nick remains at the forefront of club culture.  Packing clubs and arenas from London to Los Angeles his name has become synonymous with underground musical integrity and commercial success.   Having recently put out his eighth release on the renowned Global Underground imprint with Global Underground 035: Lima, he has become one of the top-selling DJ’s of all time.  In addition to his extensive DJ work, Nick’s presence is felt in all aspects of the industry.  Along with partner Jody Wisternoff, Nick formed Way Out West in 1997.  With four full length albums to their credit, Way Out West has placed themselves in the upper echelon of dance music groups.  Now the Way Out West duo have finished up their next album We Love Machine due out in October 2009 with plenty of tracks being road tested in clubs around the world. In the meantime, as head of A & R for Hope Recordings, Nick is able to use the platform to stay current and further provide dance floors with the shifting tides of dance music movements.

PACHA : DAVID GUETTA MINI-SITE www.pachanyc.com/guettahamptons

Pacha NYC is setting sail to the Hamptons this summer with none other than French Superstar DAVID GUETTA manning the decks at Tavern on Friday, May 22nd to kick off the Memorial day weekend and summer 2009.

At his last event at Pacha NYC in April, DAVID GUETTA simply delivered an eye shocking, jaw dropping show. To see Guetta take control of a dancefloor is something special. A direct connection with the crowd, driving hands in the air as he works CDJs, EQs and effect, Guetta creates moments. Fans singing along to his hit records, it creates a vibe that leaves people remember a night filled with happy smiles and dancing hearts.

DAVID GUETTA is a name synonymous with the world’s greatest house and dance music, and with the DJ sets and parties that bring that music to life. Since releasing his first pioneering house single in 1992, David Guetta has sold over 2 million albums worldwide and over 3.2 million singles. He has been France’s No. 1 club DJ for a decade, and was named the world’s No. 1 House DJ in 2008. DAVID GUETTA has teamed with the internationally revered Pop/R&B goddess and Grammy winner KELLY ROWLAND for Guetta’s new single, “When Love Takes Over,” released digitally as a single track on April 28 2009.

With three chart-topping albums to date (Just a Little More Love, 2002; Guetta Blaster, 2004; Pop Life, 2007), EMI Music will release Guetta’s much-awaited 4th album in June 2009 in France and in September 2009 internationally. Guetta and his wife Cathy are also famed for staging the mega-sized dance parties, F*** Me I’m Famous, for tens of thousands of fans from Ibiza to Miami, New York, London, Barcelona and Paris. They have released four club compilation packages with the same name.

A summer extravaganza with the Club World Awards “Best Superclub” Pacha New York in the Hamptons surely will make this year’s Memorial Day kick off event a special and memorable night not to be missed!
