Erick Morillo returns yet again to his home in New York City to kick off a Thanksgiving weekend full of top-tier DJs.  This summer saw the release of Subliminal Sessions 12, a double disc compilation mixed by none other than Morillo himself, which received highly acclaimed review.  Recently, Pete Tong listed Morillo and DJ DLG’s “Where Are You Now” as his Essential New Tune.  It seems as if everything Erick Morillo puts his hands on is automatically set for success. Get ready to move it, move it!

There are few DJs in the world that create the reaction that David Guetta sparks. Whether it’s 50,000 fans singing along to his hit records at the recent massive Stade De France stadium Unighted über-party, or dark rooms of clubbers locked in the groove nine hours into his set, Guetta gets passions flowing. That’s because he uniquely and boldly treads a tightrope most DJs wouldn’t dare to traverse: the line between being an underground DJ and having huge crossover success.

Though when he began he was mostly unknown outside of New York, Jonathan Peters became one of the city’s most popular DJs in the late ’90s and early 2000s thanks to his long-running Saturday night residency at Sound Factory. In addition to his DJing credentials, Peters also produces his own tracks and also remixes the work of others including Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, DMX, and the Spice Girls, among many, many others.  Jonathan Peters is now an internationally recognized DJ and will be spinning some of his more obscure B-side classics at Pacha to close out this special Thanksgiving weekend celebration.

Made Event presents
Josh Gabriel
Eight’ Album Release Tour

Made Event presents the highly anticipated return of one of America’s most talented DJ/Producers, Josh Gabriel, for his ‘Eight’ album release tour in New York at Cielo on Thursday, November 20th , 2008.

Now with acclaimed solo success, Josh Gabriel touches down in New York City to display his talent and promote his new, freshly inspired music.  Gabriel ‘s most recent release comes in the form of a debut solo artist album, ‘Eight’, his latest collection of tracks from the perspective of a dance floor purist, while at the same time imprinting enough soul to reach anyone, thanks to his brand of musical techno and groundbreaking production. As a marked departure from his previous work, Gabriel’s solo work hones in on his darker, effusive musical house and techno side. This “clubber’s album,” consistent with music that he would play in a DJ set, includes the first single “Summit”, the techno sensation Gabriel made in 2007 that was played by DJs such as John Digweed and Sander Kleinenberg, and was also chosen by DJ Magazine as one of the top tracks of 2007.

This fall, Josh Gabriel also announced the launch of Different Pieces, an independent record label and management group that integrates all aspects of an artist’s career. Gabriel founded the company with long-time business manager Guy Ornadel and his wife, Kristy Gabriel.  Together, they deliver a unique depth of experience by combining their individual strengths in music, artist marketing, and the related business aspects that drive and build artist’s career.

Josh Gabriel’s reputation for amazing shows and sounds has gained him fans from all corners of the world and he continues to produce and perform at the top of his game and is continuing to reach new heights. Josh rose to international fame as part of the duo Gabriel & Dresden, winning seven industry awards for producing, songwriting and DJing – and achieving seventeen number #1 Billboard Dance Chart hits.

“Put Your Hands Up For Detroit”
Output World Tour

Pacha NYC is pleased to present the Dutch DJ and producer Fedde Le Grande, famous for the catchy electro-house hit single “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” on Friday, November 14th.

Fedde Le Grande returns to New York City for one night only as part of his world tour promoting his debut artist album “Output” set for release in January ’09 on Ultra Records.  Renowned for his dynamite sets as much as for his high-end production, this is a rare chance for clubbers on this side of the Atlantic to catch Le Grand live.

Fedde Le Grand is already one of the biggest stars in dance music, working with the likes of Madonna, Will.i.am and the Stereo MC’s, while topping international music charts. Via his own Flamingo Records, Le Grand produced the world-wide pop-crossover smash “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit,” also released by Ultra Records in 2007. The song hit #1 in the U.K., Spain, Russia, Finland and Bulgaria dance charts. In addition, it was voted Best “Underground House Track” and “Best Breaks/Electro Track” at the International Dance Music Awards in 2007 and won “Club Banger Of The Year” at the 6th Annual Club Awards in 2008.

Fedde Le Grand “Output” to be released on Ultra Records in January 2009.

Made Event presents PACO OSUNA with Adultnapper @ Cielo – November 14th, 2008

Friday, November 14th, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Paco Osuna

Friday, November 14th, 2008
Made Event presents
PACO OSUNA
w/
Adultnapper

Made Event proudly presents highly acclaimed Spanish minimal techno DJ/Producer Paco Osuna with Adultnapper at Cielo on Friday, November 14th , 2008.

Paco Osuna‘s driving and pulsating brand of techno fuses tribal percussive beats along side the more clinical surgical sounds associated with the Minus label and the likes of Richie Hawtin and Gaiser. Being at home with both house and techno, as well as in the fusion between them, Osuna views his sets as an “in-crescendo”-journey causing variations of tension that drive the dancefloor crazy.  The combination between this factor and his unquestionable technical skills make Paco is one of the leading, emerging  forces in the scene.

Paco began his claim to fame in 1999 with a residency at the Amnesia in Ibiza, where he was greatly influenced by Sven Väth, both personally and professionally.  Osuna’s interest for the harder sounds such as techno grew, but he never left behind his passion for house music.  Soon after, Paco signed to the Serial Killer label where he released “I Can Feel My Blood Pumpin’” and “Me Vuelve Loca” on the Serial Killer EPs “Groove Grill” and “Beat Hacker”.  More recently he has put out releases with Plus 8 Records including the tracks “Crazy” and “Orbeat”.

Joining Osuna for this epic techno filled night is none other than the dark and complex techno DJ/Producer Francis Harris, better known as Adultnapper.  His unique sound has lead to his prolific career with productions appearing on Audiomatique, Nummer, Mule, Dirt Crew, and Superfreq.  Harris’s exceptional technical skills generate complex arrangements that encompass highly creative and well designed baselines and micro-rhythms.  In 2007, Harris launched Ransom Note, a concept label which, through music, text and imagery, will tell the story of the Adultnapper character, an anti-hero who is part creative genius gone awry, part tortured dystopic philosopher, part paranoid vigilante outlaw… and part Harris himself.  Adultnapper’s enigmatic Ransom Note series continues with it’s third episode. This time the plot thickens as the narrative’s shadowy author fades to the background, setting the stage for the prophetic return of Alexi Delano in the form of ADNY, with two revelatory new tracks. The Forms EP also sees the introduction of the story’s first heroine, NYC’s own Berlin transplant Camea, who rises to the challenge of remixing “Under My Skin.” Out now on collectible 12″ vinyl with color picture sleeve featuring drawings by John Stroud and text by Adultnapper.

Resident Advisor Night with Dixon, Ame & Brendon Moeller @ Cielo – Thursday, November 13th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Resident Advisor

Resident Advisor Night
DIXON (Innervisions, Berlin)
ÂME (Innervisions, Berlin)
BRENDON MOELLER (Beat Pharmacy, NYC)

Online dance and electronic music magazine Resident Advisor is proud to announce its inaugural New York City party. After years of debauchery and good times in Miami during WMC week, Resident Advisor has decided to spread our stateside party wings further a field and take on the Big Apple. For this special night, Resident Advisor presents two of their favorite DJs, deep house doyen Dixon and Kristian Beyer of Âme, to grace the decks at Cielo, along with Beat Pharmacy’s Brendon Moeller on Thursday, November 13th.

For those of you who have already heard about Steffen “Dixon” Berkhahn, 3 words are generally associated with his name: DJ, House and Deep. Take them; mix them and shake’em, whatever option you take, the equation is there.  Dixon is for the last 10 years one of the more genuine and purest representatives of what is still called “house” music.  His latest release, “D.P.O.M.B. EP” was a joint project with both Âme and Henrik Schwarz and does not let down.

Âme
are German duo Kristian Beyer & Frank Wiedemann.  Inspired by the music of Stevie Wonder, West End Rec, Transmat, Weather Report and Herbie Hancock, they make Detroit-influenced deep house and music with soul. Recently Âme geared up to launch Fabric 42, and it’s already being considered on of the best mix albums of the year.  On the highly regarded compilation, Âme create a kaleidoscopic blend of electronics and infectious grooves.  They have created their own soundscape here with an all-star cast, which breathes a magical soundtrack to the last days of summer and beyond.

Dixon and Âme have always followed their own musical path.  Innervisions, former sub-label of Sonar Kollektiv that was created by Dixon and Âme, was inspired by Dixon’s residency at “Inner City” in Berlin.  Over the years, Innervisions has become the premier label for house heads everywhere thanks to era-defining club hits like Âme’s “Rej” and the Dixon/Âme/Henrik Schwarz collaboration “Where We At?”.

Alongside Dixon and Beyer, will be versatile NYC local Brendon Moeller, whose sets at Francois K’s Deep Space night fit neatly into the deep house aesthetic.  With such innovators helming the decks, this Resident Advisor Night at Cielo will surely be a night not to be missed!
