Armin Van Buuren simply put, is one of the greatest trance music producers and DJs of all time; DJ Mag, along with the rest of the world agree, as he was voted number one DJ for 2007 in the magazines annual Top 100 vote.  Being the official World’s Best DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the fundamental force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music.  Even a short list of his recent accomplishments would for many comprise a lifetime body of work: ‘Best Album’ for artist album “Shivers” at both the Dutch Release Dance Awards and the prestigious Edison Awards; ‘Best Compilation’ for “A State Of Trance”, and ‘Best Mix Radio Dutch Show’ at the Miami Winter Music Conference 2006 for radio show ‘A State Of Trance’ – now broadcasting on a massive 40 FM stations worldwide as well as satellite and internet radio, with over 6 million listeners a week; and a 5th year residency in Ibiza at Amnesia, just to name a very few.

On the October 7th, the fifth edition of Armin van Buuren’s stunning and International Dance Music Awards Winning compilation ‘A State of Trance’ will be released on Ultra Records. ‘Armin van Buuren – A State of Trance 2008′ is the long expected new album of the award winning sequence and is filled with a range of the most exclusive and hottest tracks around.  The four previous editions of the ‘A State of Trance’ series were a big success and therefore he chose to continue the concept of ASOT 2006 and 2007; CD1 contains the ‘On the Beach’ theme and consists of tracks with catchy beats, warm vocals and delicate summer melodies, while CD2 reflects the atmosphere of an Armin performance ‘In The Club’.

Pacha NYC is pleased to present the return of Victor Calderone’s scene defying party EVOLVE, joined by special guest Adultnapper on Saturday October 18th, 2008 at the globally renowned and award winning club in the heart of New York City.

The success of the EVOLVE parties lies in Calderone’s ability to blend the old with the new, the crowd favorite with the obscure, and to span genres from banging tribal to techy minimal with grace, the right amount of sexiness and loads of energy. Victor’s EVOLVE residency was a staple in NYC’s nightlife for the last 2 years and he now returns for one more unforgettable night with Pacha NYC ’s over-the-top debauchery, spectacular sound, quality production and dazzling lighting.

For 20 plus years, Calderone has achieved an amazing career of successful residencies, chart-topping productions and star-studded remixes. With an early cult following and underground vibe, Victor shot to dance music stardom with massive hits like “Give It Up,” “Beat Me Harder,” and “Resonate.”  As a producer, his natural studio talent attracted some very big attention, leading to remix work with some of pop music’s most popular artists, including Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Beyonce, Sting and Madonna.  Calderone’s music and his parties continue to push the boundaries of the genre and evolve along with his forward-thinking sound and ever-growing popularity.

NYC’s arch tech selector Adultnapper is a shadowy figure drawn from the dark reaches of Francis Harris’ imagination.  Born in Las Vegas, raised on punk rock, and schooled in philosophy, Harris went from “hating dance music,” to establishing himself as a DJ/Producer with a unique sound and a global audience. His often introspective productions, which have appeared on Audiomatique, Nummer, Mule, Dirt Crew and Superfreq, defy convention; relying instead on a sophisticated, song-based approach, marked by elaborate swung micro-rhythms, thick musical baselines, complex arrangements and haunting tonal melodies. As a DJ, primarily mixing records, Harris employs precision skills and thoughtful programming to expand upon Adultnapper’s sonic territory, earning him turns on the world’s most discerning dancefloors; Panorama Bar, Fabric, DC10, Ibiza, The End, London, Cielo, NY, Weekend, Berlin, Pawn Shop, Miami, and Avalon, LA are just a few that he’s taken on one of his trademark emotion-laden rides.

In 2007, Harris launched Ransom Note, a concept label which, through music, text and imagery, will tell the story of the Adultnapper character, an anti-hero who is part creative genius gone awry, part tortured dystopic philosopher, part paranoid vigilante outlaw… and part Harris himself.  Adultnapper’s enigmatic Ransom Note series continues with it’s third episode. This time the plot thickens as the narrative’s shadowy author fades to the background, setting the stage for the prophetic return of Alexi Delano in the form of ADNY, with two revelatory new tracks. The Forms EP also sees the introduction of the story’s first heroine, NYC’s own Berlin transplant Camea, who rises to the challenge of remixing “Under My Skin.” Out now on collectible 12″ vinyl with color picture sleeve featuring drawings by John Stroud and text by Adultnapper.

Made Event presents the highly anticipated return of renowned Swedish DJ and producer ERIC PRYDZ at Pacha NYC on Friday, October  17th, 2008 along with Basic NYC DJs Sleepy&Boo.

Eric Prydz propelled to fame after his 2004 hit single “Call on Me” topped the UK singles charts for five weeks and held the number one spot on the German Top100 for six consecutive weeks.  Now, Prydz has again reached the upper echelon of the UK charts, with his beautiful piano-led instrumental track ‘Pjanoo’ hitting the number two spot.  It was playlisted at Radio 1, Kiss, Capital and Galaxy over 2 months before release, and is currently one of the hottest singles of 2008.  The track has already received many acclamations including Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune, Zane Lowe’s Single of the Week, Record of the Week for Jo Whiley, and numerous others. He is also currently riding high on the Beatport Top 100 download chart with the #1, 5 and 7 spots respectively with “Rakfunk”, “Wakanpi”, and “Evouh” on Pryda Recordings.

Eric Prydz is on a roll at the moment with his labels Mouseville, Pryda Recordings and Pryda Friends positively brimming with underground club hits.  Pryda Recordings recently such saw the release of Pryda 012, a unique release as it is the first time the label has released three tracks on any format: “Evouh”, “Wakanpi” and “Rakfunk”.  In addition, Mouseville’s Mouse 009 is set for release on October 13th, again another unique release as it is the first time an artist other than Cirez D has been released by the label.  Mouse 009 features the track “Ron Hardy Said” by Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers.

Eric is now in charge of three highly respected labels whose releases are in feverish demand, consistently selling huge quantities of vinyl which is truly incredible in the markets current climate. The labels are arguably proving to be the most successful and forward thinking imprints currently existing. Each label was strictly developed to give Eric a platform to release his own productions without outside interference, simply his music on his terms. It was important for Eric to step back after his previous successes and release music without schedules and pressure. Ultimately he wanted to control his own image and destiny, something extremely important to him and his career.
